Selling lamps on eBay out of a garage - that's how the Lampenwelt success story began in 1999. What founder Thomas Rebmann originally planned as a sideline business grew extremely quickly, making Lampenwelt the largest and most successful online store for lighting in Europe. Even though we have since grown into a leading medium-scale enterprise, we still remain a startup at heart. This spirit is reflected in our culture and in the way we behave.
Vanessa Stützle, CEO of Luqom Group, takes on the additional role of Lampenwelt CEO from January 2023 . She has extensive expertise in successfully building international platforms and digital business models, most recently in her role as Chief Digital Officer and member of the Executive Board at Douglas.
A few minutes from our headquarters in Fulda Lampenwelt opens its second location in the center of the city for our colleagues from the Customer Care Department.
In 2021, the new office with a loft atmosphere will open in Fulda.
We have expanded our Flexible Work even further. Lampenwelt was able to realize sales of more than 180 million euros in 2020 and opened online stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and an office in Prague.
We have successfully expanded our online store with B2B functionalities and from now on also professionally serve business customers.
In addition, our offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Dortmund were opened in 2019.
Together with the medium-sized investor 3i and the operative venture capital investor Project A, we succeed in building up even more e-commerce know-how and not only establishing ourselves on the European market in the long term.
Since 2017, LUQOM GmbH has been acting as the parent company of Lampenwelt GmbH.
Our first service and logistics center with 3,500m² is opened. After expansions in the following years, the logistics center has now grown to around 15,000m².
After our expansion in Austria and Switzerland, the first online store is launched in France. This is followed by online stores throughout Europe.
The first own internet platform is launched and thus the first step towards a professional online trade is taken.
In 1999, Thomas Rebmann starts selling lamps and luminaires from his garage in Schlitz.
